The Championship was hosted by Belo Horizonte, Brazil on 7-9 November, 2018. As expected, the colour of the cups went Samba, and the affectionate combo of Teal + Yellow fully represent the country that hosted it. There were three rounds of competitions and representatives from each country has to pour 2 separate sets of matching free-pour lattes, follow by one set of matching free pour macchiatos. There are a few notable powerhouse in the final 6 as Michalis Karagiannis from Greece, Liang Fan from China and Aga Rojewska from Poland return as last year's finalist. Shin Fukayama representing Australia and Dash Choi from Korea, are internet frenzies with a huge number of followers. Its their first world's competition but they are not new to the game. Shin actually poured in our Shanghai booth in 2016👌 Thanks However, the crown belongs to Irvine Quek from 103 Coffee Workshop in Malaysia. Irvine is first to the competition as well but he led all the way from first round to the finals and finished with a score of 470. He's just 20 years old, and a bright future ahead.
